Timon Hynes

1. Introduce yourself
Hi Timon, and I attended Myton Church during my time at Warwick University, and for this year while working at the Uni as a Relay worker - working with the Christian Union and UCCF.

2. What impact has the current lockdown had on you?
Lock down has meant the shutdown of the university, and so my work has changed in a lot of ways! I have moved back to my home town in Barnstaple, Devon, as all of my work is now done online. Which is very strange to be living back with my parents and brother all in the same house again.

3. What does your ‘normal’ day look like?
As I imagine for a lot of you, my normal day consists of a lot of zoom calls! Talking with/supporting students, planning evangelistic ideas with the CU, and reading lots of theology books for my own study.

4. Tell us one encouragement you’ve experienced whilst in lockdown.
One encouragement I have had is the amount I have seen friends and family support/message me and one another, that so many believers are instinctively looking out for other's needs.

5. Any funny moments you are willing to share?
Sadly, I cannot think of any specific funny thing that has happened, though there certainly have been many humorous occurrences during zoom meetings, whether left on mics/videos, or unexpected appearances in the backgrounds XD.

6. Tell us one thing you are finding challenging.
I am finding it quite challenging to get into a good routine/habits, as the hours and days merge into one, and without the need to be anywhere it is hard to find motivation for discipline!

7. What aspect of God’s character or work have you been enjoying?
I have been very blessed by God's provisions while at home, and being more aware of all that I do have now during lock down - to the lovely green countryside and beaches in Devon, to the food and shelter I have at home.

8. Give us something we can pray for you.
Please do pray that I will be able to work well and honour God in that during lockdown, and that he will guide me on what to do after my relay work finishes in June!
