At home with Sarah (& Max)

Sarah & Max

1. Introduce yourself
Hi I'm Sarah Bidmead, I live in sunny Stratford Upon Avon near the town and river.

  2. What impact has the current lockdown had on you?
I was set up to work from home as soon as the lockdown started, being asthmatic. I am quite used to working from home and I do enjoy it, aside from the stresses with IT/technology and internet that does happen!

3. What does your ‘normal day’ now look like?
I am up early in the week, as normal to walk my border collie, Max. I am fortunate to live near the Greenway, race course, river and fields. I like to pray whilst out walking and first thing is always a positive start to the day, so its leg wrap on for me and off we go. I always see a few friendly faces and some dog walking friends from a distance so that is now more than ever a real joy and blessing. Back home for breakfast and then work for the Life division at the NFU Mutual. I'm on the phone all day, so it's busy, which is good and even more so than normal. Lunchtime is a quick walk around the block and then food, which now normally means eating in the garden, which is the bonus of being at home! After work, evening walkies and eating its quite late, so a quick catch up with family and/or friends, Bible study and Zzzzzzs.

4. Tell us one encouragement you’ve experienced whilst in lockdown?
I can think of a few encouragements during lockdown.. One of them being talking and sharing with neighbours more, from a distance of course. I have more time to rest my leg and with not rushing around this does help. I'm loving reading more, bliss, especially in the garden. I do love having UCB radio on for the praise songs and teachings.

            5. Any funny moments you are willing to share?
Funny moments...Ummm not sure how funny it is but I am finding it quite liberating not washing my hair so much! I normally swim regularly which I love and being weight bearing it really helps my leg so that's when I wash my hair. Now it's normally only before housegroup or a Microsoft teams meeting!!!

6. Tell us one thing you are finding challenging.
Bandaging my leg on my own for the first time was and is a big thing for me. I start off, then I want to call Mum to come round and do the foot for me and Dad to help tighten the bandages! (They normally do the bandaging for me every 2/3 weeks.) I have had some prayer for this, thank you !! At least as I can't drive when it's on and at the moment I don't have to drive anywhere, so that is good news!

7.  What aspect of God’s character or work have you been enjoying?
God's peace and calm during stressful times with work/technology. I have learnt a lot.

8. Give us something we can pray for you.
I do keep putting the bandaging off, partly because it has been so very hot and I have to keep it on for at least 2 days and 2 nights in order for it to help. Prayer that this would become easier for me and that I do a good/better job of it so it helps my leg, would be great. Thank you!!

Take care everyone look forward to seeing you all at some point in the future. Love Sarah
